UTF-8 Character Encoding – Foreign Characters Rejoice!

Posted by: Corey on: March 17, 2009

I started MyBannerMaker back in November of 2005 after playing around with generating images from code through a web browser. Back then, figuring out how to add text to an image was enough of a headache that I had no hope at mastering character encoding and commanding it to properly serve my visitors. A mere 3 years and 5 months later and I’ve finally managed to drag the book out and get character encoding working properly on MyBannerMaker.

What’s that mean to you? Well, I’ll tell you what that means to you. It means you can use characters like these in all of your banners: Å å Ü ü Ö ö Ç ç ™ © ∫ § ¶ • º π î ô Î Ô â Â. Now THAT’S pretty cool. :)

As always, enjoy!
